Ahau Arch, Sabtang, Batanes

The Ahau Arch, found at Nakbuang Beach, Sabtang Island, Batanes is said to be the one of the most photographed tourist spot here in Batanes. Ahau Arch is made of limestone which shows the origin of Batanes Island, Limestone are used by native ivatans in building their houses.

I was amazed in the first time I see the Ahau Arch in close view, because I'm just seeing it from the internet.

At first kasi, it was just a ordinary rock forming an arc shape with a hole in the middle. But as you can see, it is a natural rock formation which takes place a long long time ago☺.

But still, im happy that i've reached that place...walang ganyan sa states kasi!♥

An old Ivatan woman wearing a Vakul

Ivatan woman wearing a "vakul", an ivatan headdress used to protect them from rain and sunlight when going to their farm.

I can say that Ivatan women are very industrious, sometimes i can see them going to their farm walking, sometimes riding on a side car while carrying a basket in their head which is called "Alat nu Baka" where they put all their farm tools and sometimes their harvest.

Old Ivatan women are very different to others, different in the sense that even they are very old, still they can manage to visit their farm from early in the morning until dusk, sometimes they bring their food with them and ate it in lunch time.
